So glad that Wednesday's to-do list finally *took* now that it's Friday. If I had to look at that list one more day I was going to scream.

(Friday night Cheers to Grandmom for coming to play with the boys!)

Hmmm, I'm not sure how I feel about this, and I know that I don't like the headline.

Not to sound all 99%, but I think that there are a lot of assumptions taken in this (and most similar) article(s). I know that it's based on studies, and that each person/case is different, but assumptions about guilt, time management, and spouse involvement seem awfully...assuming.

'Schedule time for yourself' is good advice, but who is going to watch your kids? Trade time/kids with a friend? Otherwise you'll need to pay a babysitter, which may not be doable...especially if you're a "Stay-at-home mom [who] feel[s] insecure because [you] don't hold down paid jobs..."
Your thoughts?

Ok, I know there are like a dillion of these floating around the internet this week, but some of them are so darn true. Like this one.

Are you a work outside the home mom? Ever think it may be best to just quit? This mom did.

I recently read about a working mom who describes her work schedule as "creative full time". I think that term fits my schedule as well! I combine work-work and home-work throughout the day (and night!) so that I am able to get everything accomplished.

How do you divide your time?

You're doing laundry, helping build Lego towers, and working (ya know, the kind that pays), and then the phone rings. It's a client. Can you corral the kids into another room, hit play on the DVR, and get your file pulled up all before the machine picks up?

So you get a nanny. A good, responsible nanny. So why the guilt?!

Speaking of working without distraction...how do you make that happen?

http://www.parentdish.com/2011/03/23/companies-working-mothers/?icid=maing|main5|dl11|sec3_lnk2|51405

Countless studies have shown that people are more productive when not worried about where their children are, when they have to leave to get them, and what events and milestones they're missing (duh). So why are companies still so inflexible?

Staying home is not possible for some, and not preferable for others, but flexibility is appreciated by all.

Apparently "Please be quiet for a minute, I have to make a call for work" translates to "Please play the drums and climb on the counter for Easter candy" in kidspeak. My bad...

Do you work in an office or at home? These questions might help you...:)
