Why Are We Fighting?

Choices. It's about choices. Arguing and ridiculing over birthing options is as dumb as the SAHMs v Working Moms fight. As a writer, a mom, and just a girl in general, I try to offer information. Admittedly, some opinions are thrown in there-- consciously and unconsciously just through the types of things I post.

I don't understand why anyone would CHOOSE to have a C-section, but claiming that a woman who gave birth with an epidural or via C-section is any less of a mom/woman/warrior/hero is utterly ridiculous. Same goes for breastfeeding; I don't understand why someone wouldn't at least TRY, but what they choose long-term is not for your judgement.

I LOVE all the differing opinions of our friends and followers, and ALWAYS welcome comments-- however similar or adverse they may be to my own, but judging instead of informing is not ok.

Let's work together to HELP each other, not make it a competition.

I realized yesterday that both of my boys are big enough to actually hold my hand. Not wrap tiny hands around one of my fingers, not need to be carried everywhere, but actually hold my hand.

I'm not sure why this struck me, or why I even realized, but it seems like a milestone. A big one.

Like when they started consistently sleeping through the night, like when they could use their own fork and spoon, like when they switched from crying to just playfully calling out when they woke up from a nap...

Maybe that's it. Those are all developmental stages. This is a growth measurement. My boys are actually growing up.

What were the milestones for you? What was it that made you realize your kids were growing up?

Separation Anxiety: A story of me and 8,000 articles of baby clothing

How do you part with baby clothes?!

We have a somewhat decent size attic but it is consumed with bins and bins of baby clothes. I'm keeping them just, ya know, in case.

The thing is, I don't know where to begin. Should I get rid of all the newborn onesies and sleepers since I'd probably get fresh ones for a new baby anyway? Or should I keep those because they're the staples?

Should I keep the clothes that are least worn? But those were probably my least favorite and would be easiest to part with...

The clothes that I kept from Baby #1 barely got used for Baby #2. They were born at exact opposite seasons, and have always had opposite body types and growth patterns. So there was very little ovverlap of wearable clothing. Which, of course, means that I now have double as many items.

I'm guessing that if we happen to throw a third baby into the mix, we'd encounter the same thing. (Plus, if I have a third it'll definitely be a girl and all my clothes are for boys :))

So where do I start? No really, help!
