Hard question-- twins are born together; one is still born, the other healthy. How do you acknowledge first birthday(s)? Wish one a happy birthday with a note that you're thinking of the other? Is that appropriate?
Do your twins-- or your single-born siblings-- have coordinating/complementary names? Is that something you paid attention to when thinking of names?
Some helpful links for moms of multiples~
I have a friend who is 23wks pregnant w/twin girls. She is in the hospital being monitored and getting meds, in preterm labor. She is terrified and is asking for prayers. I certainly believe in the power of prayer in numbers. So please send her prayers, smiles, peace, health, good wishes, giggles, or whatever it is that you believe can help her :)
Do your kids look alike? Do they look like you?
My boys look a lot like each other (see my previous rant about the "Are they twins" incessant questioning), but not a lot like me-- at least not just at a glance. Twice this week I had someone comment that my husband must be blonde because where else would these kids come from since I am a dark-haired/olive-skinned girl and my boys are blonde-haired and fair-skinned.
Trust me, they're mine...I have about 40 hours of combined labor hours to document it ;)
My boys are doing nothing to discourage the "Are they twins?" question by insisting to dress alike (or similar) every day.
In one store last week, we heard it so many times that Little Guy turned around and asked me, "Mommy, are we twins?"
