No, I don't like it. Grandmothers are wonderful, and should share in the joy, but not have a shower. If combined with the mother's shower, it's not fair; and if in addition to it, it seems greedy and excessive.

How often do your kids see their grandparents? What if *you* don't have a great relationship with your parents? Does that affect it? What if *they* don't make the first move or initiate interaction? Does that matter?
(Basically, I'm not looking for your 'happy family' answer, but something with a little bit more of a complex family dynamic.)
Where else but my Italian grandparents' house could you go for a visit and return home with dinner for that evening, fresh peppers from the garden, fishing lures, and a pack of D batteries?
