I'm decorating for Christmas and roasting vegetables, and this is basically my 30-something happy place.
(In the cold months; in the warm months it's somewhere sunny and 75, on a ballfield or close to water with a drink.)
Once upon a time, I liked to go out the night before Thanksgiving.
Now, on this night, I like to do old lady things like prep food, and do my nails, and drink tea, and tell the same story of that one time I climbed in the window of the Bent Elbow on Thanksgiving Eve*, and go to bed shortly after the time I was probably arriving there that night. 👵
*(We talked about this before; it was either 2000 or 2001, and several of you were there, even though I didn't even know some of you at the time!)

Only turkey and apple pie until further notice.
Having kids who can dress themselves for snow makes the fact that they only last for 20 minutes much more tolerable.
