I love our crib, and actually still have it...unused for 6+ years at this point. It was one thing I couldn't trash. I really like the desk and the bench ideas (and the porch swing, but I don't have a porch). I'm adding this to my 'someday' file!
Crib-to-bed transition was not easy for us either, so help this mom:
Desperate for help!! In the past week my 2 year old became spiderman and was able to scale both her crib and baby gates. We switched her to a toddler bed and now she will not sleep through the night. She wakes up almost every night between 3-4 am and is wide awake, a lot of times not going back to sleep. All she wants to do is lay in our bed and play. She fights going to sleep and refuses to stay in bed. I even had to double stack baby gates in order to try and keep her in her room. HELP!!! Any mothers have similar problem or better yet working solutions?!
When did you switch your kids out of a crib and into a bed? A friend's 3-yr-old wants nothing to do with a bed.
I say it's like anything else-- if she fits in it and sleeps well in it, let it be for now and slowly hype up a big-girl bed. Like everything else, it will come in time. She won't take a crib to the college dorm :)
