Fisher-Price Rock and Play Recall:
[I do not own one, so it's weird that I got this email, but I know that these are very popular, and we have discussed them here before! Sounds like a problem that can be easily solved, but be sure to read:]

Dear Consumer,
This email is being sent to you because our records indicate that you own a Fisher-Price Newborn Rock ’n Play Sleeper™.

Fisher-Price®, in cooperation with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, is voluntarily announcing a recall to inspect Fisher-Price Newborn Rock ’n Play Sleepers™. Mold can develop between the removable seat cushion and the hard plastic frame of the sleeper when it remains wet/moist or is infrequently cleaned.

Mold is not present at the time of purchase, but mold can grow after use of the product. Newborn Rock ’n Play Sleepers™ currently in retail stores are not affected by this recall to inspect.

Since our records indicate that you own one or more of these Newborn Rock ’n Play Sleepers™, we are contacting you directly as a courtesy.

The sleeper is designed for babies up to 25 pounds and is composed of a metal rocking frame and removable, washable fabric cover. The product is sold in various patterns and color palettes

If mold growth is discovered, you can click here for cleaning instructions.

You can also contact Fisher-Price at 1-800-432-5437 Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 AM and 6 PM Eastern Time.

A Cuddly Teddy Bear...Think Again

So how many people brought stuffed animals to your new baby? How many does you child actually use?

Sure, while the baby is still, well, a baby, they decorate shelves and get tucked in corners of the nursery. But once that kid is mobile, those little plushies are free game. One or two become favorites and get taken to college (if not first falling ill with Velveteen Rabbit syndrome). What about the rest?

Dust collectors. Asthma aggravators. Tossed in the yardsale pile or shoved in the attic never to be seen again.

Before I had children, I thought that smooshy yellow duck was the cutest little gift. Now, through mommy-eyes, I see them for what they really are: dust-collecting space wasters.

But, I can't bear to part with them. I keep thinking that in 10 years they'll remember and request a cetain one and I'll have to admit that I threw it away. For now, they're restricted to designated baskets in their rooms- and frequently washed.

I can tell you, now that I'm a parent, it would have to be one exceptionally cute
