Sorry kiddies, I have to say that trading car seats for a stick shift was a nice change for this morning's ride.
Hmm. If I am reading this correctly, the LATCH system doesn't account for older (presumably heavier) children being in car seats. Take care and check your seat/system!
Quick reminder-- If your child uses a shoulder/lap belt (with or without a car seat or booster), you need to pull the shoulder strap all the way out, then let it retract and lock into place. Otherwise, it is *significantly* less effective. It will not stop them from being thrown forward in an accident, or even a quick stop.
