Yep, that's a now-vintage 1990s Caboodles!
Ahh, nothing like the smell of plastic and old makeup haha!
But for real, this thing is still in great shape! Aside from some wayward sparkles, and a nailpolish splatter or two, it's in top form!
I was actually looking for cool traincase-type jewelry boxes for my tween nieces at Christmastime, and ended up getting them Caboodles brand ones. I didn't even know they still existed! They were super cute-- patterned and fabric-covered. I thought about updating mine, but decided to stick with my old trusty plastic one.
It still works well, housing makeup I don't use too often and lots of nail polish. And that's where this all started-- the nail polish.
I wear the same half-dozen colors all the time, yet I have toooons!

I'm not sure if Garden Botanika stores still exist, but I am sure that I have not been in one in 15 years. And more sure that this was never a great color. Trash.
I'm fairly certain I only bought this one because it was called Super-charged and my boyfriend/husband at the time had a supercharger on his car...wow. yeah. (I'm not sure what that says about my 17-yr-old self...) I think it made it to my toes maybe once. Trash.
What about 'collections'? How many variations of the same shade does one need?
For darker days we have Vixen, Raven, Raisin, Spiced Plum, Wine...you get the point.
Looking for something lighter? How about Tickled Pink, Ballet Slippers, blah blah blah!
I thinned these out so much that the Caboodles probably isn't even necessary anymore...but you know I am damn well keeping it.
What's your favorite nailpolish? Lately, I have been loving Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. It's really cheap, has colors that rival Essie, and lasts just as long as anything else I've used.
And seriously, if you still have a Caboodles, tag me in the pic and I'll send you something-- a new nailpolish perhaps ;)
