BLACKOUT is one of my very favorite books that I have had the opportunity to review. So when I found out that John Rocco was releasing another book titled BLIZZARD, I was all-too-excited to get my hands on it!
BLIZZARD is the story of John's real life experience as a 10-year-old boy during the Blizzard of 1978-- an infamous storm that dumped 53 inches of snow on his Rhode Island neighborhood! As days went by, and supplies got low, and plows hadn't come yet, John made the trek to the market, collecting everything his neighbors and his own family needed.
A sentence or two on each page is all it takes Rocco to magically tell his story. As they did in BLACKOUT, the beautiful illustrations help bring the story to life. This is a wonderful book for all ages-- and all seasons of the year.
