I couldn't (can't) look at my kids without tearing up, let alone talk to them about it directly, and don't want them to be scared to go to school. We did talk today about teachers being in charge at school, and about following all directions in an emergency, or even for a drill (even if you're line leader that day, or in the middle of a fun project or test, etc.). My kids are Pre-K and 1st Grade, so we felt that was far enough. We didn't want to mention the horrifying details, just wanted to make sure that they would know what to do in such a situation.
