Home Alone (with a nosy neighbor)

What do you think about this?

If we're measuring in floors or yards or minutes, does that means I can leave one son alone in the house while I walk the other to the bus stop (slightly more than 6 floors (60 feet) but less than 10 minutes)? or that I can leave my boys in the car while I run into Wawa for milk? or that that's only ok if they're sleeping?

I don't really have a problem with what she did here, but I fear that some people get carried away and go to extremes. What do you think?
