Just Friends with Benefits was one of my first book reviews—and was Meredith Schorr’s first novel. Three books later, here we are with How Do You Know?!
After ‘meeting’ when I used my internet stalking skills to email her asking to do a review for JFWB, Meredith now emails me when she has a new release (this excites me to no end. Authors are totally on par with actors for me, so it may as well be Meryl Streep emailing ;)). AND she bears with me when it takes me five months to get the review live—which has nothing to do with how awesome the book is, and everything to do with my busy-ness and general lameness… So without further delay:

How Do You Know? features Maggie Piper, newly 39, and well-aware of her ticking biological clock—mainly because no one misses a chance to remind her. A simultaneously well-considered and rash decision to take a break from her live-in, long-term boyfriend only adds to the impending doom of the big 4-0.
The year following the age-39-breakup does little to give Maggie hope that she’ll be any more settled at 40 than she is at 39. As relationships grow and crumble around her, Maggie realizes that—like most things in life—love doesn’t follow a script, or the rules. But maybe breaking the rules is what she needs…There are so many teasing twisting turns that I truly didn’t know what was going to happen right up until the last page.
How Do You Know? (like all of Schorr’s books) is light enough and intriguing enough to finish within a weekend getaway, but deep enough and captivating enough to leave you wanting more. And I do. (Good thing she has a Blogger Girl sequel coming out next year!)
