I'm not going to share the image and many articles about it, but a mom posted a photo of her very fit self, surrounded by her 3 young boys, with the caption "What's your excuse?". This has caused a firestorm of backlash. Ugh.
To that, I say that every time someone spouts off all the reasons that it doesn't apply to them, that she just has good genes, that she must have help, that they prefer to spend time with their family than work out, that she's body shaming, I think, "Yep, THAT is your excuse." If calling it a reason instead of an excuse makes you feel better, fine. But just own it. By attacking this well-meaning mom, YOU are the one who's fanning the flames of the mommy wars. Stop.
