Tricia LaVoice and Barbara Lazaroff provide those words, wishes, thoughts for each other, and for us in Wishes for a Mother’s Heart.
To be completely honest, at first glance, I thought it would be a little too fluffy for me. Did I really want to read someone else’s thoughts? It was a conversation between friends-- would it mean anything to me?
Yes.
“I can think of no more beautiful gift a friend can give to another friend than to love her children and help make a positive difference in their lives.”
The thoughts that are found in this book are universal to motherhood. So many of them rang true to me as I read; some stopped me and made me think about a parallel situation in my own life.
LaVoice and Lazaroff not only share the copy from the Wishes that they exchanged, but also provide action items, ways to act on the wishes that we may have for each other (or ourselves). These bulleted lists enable the reader to think more deeply about the Wish, and give them ways to act out those Wishes.
This is a great gift for any mother—or anyone who “mothers”.
